Y- Tutoring Meeting Reflection

Today, we went to the YMCA to talk to our out of school supervisor, Julia Defeo. She is the Youth and Family Director at the YMCA. The meeting ran smoothly, with her simply asking for an explanation of what Trivia Night was and why we wanted to donate money. By talking about the ways we care about education and improving levels of proficiency for children in underperforming schools and explaining exactly what CAS is, she easily began to support us. It was not only the willingness to work with us, but the encouragement she gave us and the excitement she felt over receiving money for the Y-Tutoring program which was originally only funded by a single event. Ms. Defeo even decided she was going to interview us for the work we were doing.
