Reflecting on the Process: Ben

Overall, I feel that our CAS project was a success in terms of Trivia Night and raising money. We definitely went through many challenges through this whole process but eventually figured it out and learned from this experience. Much of the problems that we faced in the CAS projected stemmed from procrastination on our part as a group as well as myself individually. Even though I believe it was a success, I think our Trivia Night could’ve been better in terms of preparedness. We had many meetings with our CAS group and with our supervisor discussing the details of trivia night but not enough action. I had a big role in the marketing aspect of our CAS group, mainly spreading the word about trivia night and selling tickets. This presented itself as a huge challenge because I had to approach many students from other grades that I did not know and many of them were not interested. This made it hard to sell tickets but I learned to be patient and persistent. Through this, I gained confidence in myself on approaching fellow members of the BSGE community and I think it brought our community closer in the process. I was a little nervous and uneasy about the actual event because I felt that something would go wrong. I was a little intimidated of speaking into the microphone and just speaking in front of an audience in general but after doing it once, it got a little easier. The night was a little chaotic and there were some things that went wrong but all in all, I feel that people who attended had a good time and enjoyed the night. I feel that all of my group members and I did a good job of executing the event itself and that the CAS project was a success. Through ticket sales, bake sales, raffles and other stuff, we managed to raise $500 which is a success and we also gave people an enjoyable time at trivia night.
