Reflecting on the Process: Camilla

Throughout this CAS project, I have learned how to work well together with my team members, create and share unique ideas, and improve time management. At first, our group struggled with finding the best way to hold a trivia night. We were not sure whether we should create quiz sheets, have numerous rounds, or project the questions up for the participants to view. We also debated on if the participants should be timed for each questions or timed for each round. After having numerous group meetings and speaking to our advisor, Mr. Rabinowitz, we ultimately decided to have 5 rounds with around 10 questions in each round. We also agreed that each round should last 15 minutes. Our group improved on our communication skills when we came up with questions and finalized the plan for our Trivia Night. One challenge that we had was picking a date for us to hold Trivia Night. Some of us were unable to stay after school on the original date we planned to hold the event. We also tried to hold the after school event on April 19, but we soon realized that we couldn’t due to other events that had already been planned for the same evening. We successfully were able to split up the work for this project and assigned roles for creating a website, writing questions, holding bake sales, selling tickets, making brochures, and hanging up posters. All members of the group also worked hard to advertise Trivia Night to all grades and sell tickets. We also were able to come up with ideas to raise more money for Y-Tutoring, such as holding a raffle, selling food at Trivia Night, and holding bake sales. Time management initially was an issue for our group, but towards February and March we came together to finalize our ideas and set April 26 as the date for Trivia Night.
Overall, I am extremely proud of our CAS group and of how well we were able to come together to share ideas and build off of each other's suggestions. Although I had not really spoken to Rahid, Matthew, Hana, and Ben much before this process, we all quickly were able to work with each other and I am very glad that I was able to work with such a great group of people. Despite having different opinions and passions, we were able to create a project that interested all of us and that we enjoyed being a part of together.
